Community Guidelines

The SPAN Administrators request that all members adhere to the following community guidelines, and we reserve the right to moderate any participation that is not conducive to a positive experience for all members. (Adapted from the Climate Science Alliance SWAF Community Agreements)

  1. We commit to creating a safe and welcoming environment where all people, ideas, cultures, and backgrounds are valued and respected.
  2. We commit to recognizing that our diversity is our most valuable asset and we will live out this value through compassionate interactions with each other.
  3. We commit to creating a space to openly share knowledge, ideas, and lessons learned to make a positive impact in our region and communities.

SPAN is based at the Center for Climate Adaptation Science and Solutions at the University of Arizona in Tucson and is sponsored by the Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center and the American Society of Adaptation Professionals.

The Southwest Practitioners Adaptation Network builds capacity for actionable climate change adaptation solutions and SPANs the boundaries between science and decision-making. By connecting and leveraging existing networks, SPAN links climate adaptation and assessment practitioners with resources, support, and knowledge to build stronger partnerships across the U.S. Southwest.
